SSA is hosting it's 13th annual Youth Spring Sporting Expo at Mote Aquaculture Park at
the Hi Hat Ranch. This is a four hour event for kids and their partents where the kids
receive valuable hands-on instruction in various sporting activites. The focus of this
year's Spring Expo is fishing and outdoor related recreational activities.
This year's event will feature fly tying, fly casting, castnetting, fishing in the Mote
snook pond, and a tour of the Mote aquaculture center where they are rasing snok,
sturgeon, shrimp and permit. We are looking forward to a fun-filled day where the
kids learn by actually performing various outdoor activities.
We will be limiting attendance at the Spring Expo to the first 50 kids who register
(Sorry, but to provide hands-on instruction, we can only handle a limited number of kids).
There is no cost for the day's activity. The purpose of the event is instructional rather
than fundraising. Since hooks, rods and reels will be demonstrated and used by youth
participants, guardians must be present at all stations and a liability waiver must be
executed by the guarrdian for each youth. Appropriate age range for the kids is six
though fourteen, but we'll leave that up to the guardian's discretion.
Attached is a registration form for the Youth Sporting Expo. Please pre-register your
child (children), grandchild, niece, nephew, etc. to insure their participation.
(Remember, there is a 50 child limit). We require participation of a guardian for your
child or group of children as this is not a morning babysitting service.
We look forward to a fun-filled day that the kids will remember for a long time. If you
have any question about our event, please contact Youth Expo Chairman, Tres Ludwig at
